The Pink Forum is launching a first-of-its-kind children's and youth social wellness clinic in Tembisa. Our focus is affordable, accessible healthcare for children and young people (ages 6 months-24 years), integrated with our Early Childhood Development (ECD) Outreach Program that delivers health and developmental screenings directly into preschools and creches. Together, these services give every child "A Healthy Start."
Role Overview.
The Junior GP & Clinical Team Lead will provide direct medical care while serving as the clinical lead of the multidisciplinary team. This role combines hands-on patient care with leadership and outreach responsibilities, ensuring that children seen in both the clinic and outreach program receive consistent, high-quality, integrated care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
Conduct medical consultations, assessments, and follow-up care for children and youth.
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, including preventative care.
Prescribe medication and interpret diagnostic results.
Provide caregiver education and health promotion.
Team Leadership & Coordination
Lead the clinic's multidisciplinary team (nurses, OTs, social workers, psychologists).
Facilitate weekly case reviews and care planning.
Provide clinical guidance for referrals and complex cases.
Mentor junior staff and support professional development.
ECD Outreach Support
Provide medical oversight for the Pink Forum ECD Outreach Program.
Review referrals from outreach screenings for follow-up at the clinic.
Support development of referral pathways between ECD centres and the clinic.
Participate in periodic outreach visits to strengthen links with ECD staff and caregivers.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with HPCSA standards, child protection laws, and clinic protocols.
Monitor documentation and patient safety in both clinic and outreach activities.
Contribute to monitoring and reporting for funders and health authorities.
Requirements:
MBChB degree and valid HPCSA registration.
Completion of Community Service year.
Minimum 1-2 years' post-community service clinical experience (primary care, family medicine, or paediatrics preferred).
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to coordinate teams.
Strong communication skills with children, families, and educators.
Passion for accessible, preventative, and community-based healthcare.
