Junior Factory Accountant

to join our team in

Ottery, Cape Town

Job Responsibilities:

Assist with the coordination of monthly stock count procedures. Assist with count team training. Assist with the compilation of the monthly stock count file. Import count numbers. Post stock cards. Process miscellaneous adjustments. Process, record and report stock adjustments. Oversee Goods-in-transit account. Assist with investigation of major variances in the monthly Inventory valuation. Assist with monthly standard cost update based on BOM's. Liase with Planning department to ensure variances are followed up on. Facilitate material changes on works orders. Responsible for the full accounting function of one property company in the group. Review weekly wages. Understand cost drivers and departmental classifications. Understanding indirect Cost of Sales e.g. Print Consumables, Environmental Levies etc. Responsible for the monthly Toolroom journal. Account for monthly scrap sales. Responsible for the accounting of intersite charges. Extract / prepare costing data (financial and operational) from the ERP system (Sage X3) and QlikView to be used for reporting purposes. Responsible for the accounting of petty cash for at least one site in the Packaging division.

What You Need to Succeed:

Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Accounting degree CIMA qualification Studying towards a BCom in Accounting or CIMA qualification Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Competence in Microsoft Office products: (Sage X3 ERP strongly preferred; Intermediate Excel)
