The Junior Data Analyst supports the delivery of the +more and Pepkor Group Customer Insights strategy by collecting, analysing, and interpreting customer data to uncover actionable insights. This role plays a key part in driving data-informed decision-making across the Pepkor Group by designing and maintaining analytical models, dashboards, and reports that guide strategic business initiatives. A strong focus will be placed on ensuring data accuracy, creating accessible visualisations, and collaborating across teams to enhance the Group's understanding of customer behaviour and engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Extraction & Preparation
Source, clean, and transform data from various systems to support analysis and reporting.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy across multiple platforms and datasets.
Analytical Insights & Reporting
Design, develop, and maintain automated dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
Analyse customer and business data to generate insights that drive operational and strategic outcomes.
Communicate findings clearly through visualisations and presentations tailored to non-technical stakeholders.
Exploratory Data Analysis & Storytelling
Conduct exploratory analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
Deliver data-driven presentations and reports that translate complex findings into business value.
Partner with the Group Customer & +more team, as well as operational and IT teams, to ensure seamless data delivery and consistency.
Translate business questions into analytical solutions and provide clear recommendations.
Stay up to date with the latest data tools, frameworks, and techniques (including LookerPro, QlikView, Power BI).
Identify opportunities to improve data processes, reporting efficiency, and automation.
Manage the Pepkor Customer Insights Community
You will be responsible for coordinating the research plan with key stakeholders, planning and executing research studies. You will play a key role in collecting both quantitative and qualitative data and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders. This involves managing research partnerships on a day to day basis.
JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role.
Experience in the retail industry will be advantageous.
Proficiency in SQL, data visualisation tools (QlikView, Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar), and Google Workspace.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data storytelling skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Exposure to Salesforce and customer data platforms will be beneficial.
