Van Schaik Bookstore requires a resourceful Junior Category Buyer who possesses good interpersonal and administrative skills and can function well under pressure.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager: Non-books the Junior Category Buyer must drive sales in the product category with exciting opportunities and challenges.
The Junior Category Buyer key responsibilities will be to collaborate with the wider Product Team and business functions in order to execute strategies to achieve product category and business targets. It will include managing product ranges, stock, pricing, supplier negotiation, and actioning promotional plans.
Requirements:
xc2xb7 Qualification in Retail, Business or Procurement Management
xc2xb7 Product buying and sourcing experience within the retail industry
xc2xb7 Customer driven with strong negotiating and communication skills
- Able to network and develop key relationships with suppliers
xc2xb7 Decisiveness in a fast-moving environment
xc2xb7 Proficient in English
- Computer literate (MS Office suite) and MS Outlook
