Junior Buyer

Job Description
We are recruiting for a Junior Buyer to join a growing defence and engineering manufacturer based in Centurion. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career who has strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will support procurement activities, liaise with suppliers, and ensure efficient purchasing processes in a fast-paced technical environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Source and compare quotations from local and international suppliers
- Place and follow up on purchase orders
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and components
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance and maintaining good supplier relationships
- Track and manage stock levels and inventory
- Support senior procurement staff with ad hoc administrative and operational tasks
- 1-2 years' experience in a procurement, sales, or purchasing support role
- A relevant diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Business (advantageous)
- Strong administrative and communication skills
- Able to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
- Must have own reliable transport
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
- Experience in a technical or manufacturing environment will be an advantage
