Job Description

Job Purpose



To perform core bookkeeping and financial administration duties for the South African operations, ensuring that accounting records are accurately maintained, bank accounts are fully reconciled, and creditors processes are efficiently managed. The role emphasizes practical finance execution including data capture, reconciliations, and general admin support to the finance team.

Key Responsibilities



1. Bookkeeping & Transaction Processing



Capture supplier invoices, customer invoices, payments, and expense transactions on a daily basis Maintain the general ledger through standard journals, accruals, and corrections under supervision File and safeguard all source documentation for audit, VAT, and internal-control purposes Assist with preparation of trial balance schedules at month end

2. Bank & Cash Book Reconciliation



Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations for operational accounts Allocate receipts and payments to correct projects and cost centers Investigate unreconciled or unidentified items and prepare resolution schedules Support communication with banks to obtain statements and confirmations

3. Creditors Administration



Reconcile creditors statements to ledger balances each month Prepare payment packs for approval with quotations and proof of delivery Follow up supplier queries relating to pricing, quantities, or timing differences Maintain supplier master data and onboarding records

4. Administrative Finance Support



Assist with purchase-application workflow and authorization tracking Gather information for B-BBEE compliance and supplier records Retrieve documents for auditors and management as required Support VAT schedules and compliance checklists

Qualifications



Recently completed degree or diploma in Accounting / Finance / Bookkeeping Computer literacy with Microsoft Excel, Word, and email Understanding of double-entry principles advantageous

Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy Ability to follow SOP-driven processes Clear written and verbal English Ethical conduct and confidentiality Willingness to learn within renewable-energy logistics finance

Performance Indicators



Timely completion of bank reconciliations Creditors differences cleared within defined periods Accurate project allocation on cash book Organized files with no missing documents

Training & Growth



On-the-job training in VAT and controls Exposure to project accounting for wind-turbine logistics Progression toward Senior Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant
