Job Description
Job Summary The Junior Assistant Buyer plays a crucial role in supporting the procurement team of a dynamic fruit and vegetable wholesaler. This position involves collaborating with senior buyers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality produce and prepared goods. The Junior Assistant Buyer will contribute to the smooth operation of the procurement process, from vendor selection and negotiation to inventory management. Assist in identifying, evaluating, and selecting reputable suppliers for fruits, vegetables, and prepared goods. Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors to secure favourable terms and pricing agreements. Assist in planning based on stock needs and demand forecasts. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that received products meet the specified quality standards. Communicate any quality issues to relevant parties and assist in resolving disputes with suppliers. Own Transportation Strong analytical and negotiation skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload. Familiarity with the fruit and vegetable industry is a plus.
