Junior Apparel Designer (Freelance) -- Vecchio

Contract: Part-time freelance (3 days/week)

Compensation: Monthly retainer (not hourly)

Location: Cape Town-based preferred; on-site or remote (as long as work is completed)

Start: ASAP

Vecchio is a Cape Town-based sportswear and apparel brand. We're looking for a junior designer with a clean eye, strong pace, and a love for sportswear to support our product mock-ups and day-to-day creative work.

What you'll do

Apparel mock-ups (match kits, training wear, lifestyle pieces) with a 1-3 day turnaround per brief. Edit and optimise content for social media (cropping, retouching, layout). Assist in designing marketing materials (one-pagers, look cards, simple decks, banners). Work within our workflow system with set ETAs, ensuring consistent delivery and communication.

What you'll need

Solid experience with Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop (Figma a plus). Ability to create accurate, production-ready apparel mock-ups. Good understanding of print and digital requirements (colour modes, file prep, formats). Strong attention to detail, fast iteration speed, and willingness to learn. A portfolio or examples of past work (student or freelance projects welcome).

Experience with sportswear, fashion, or team kit design. Basic video editing or motion design for reels. Photography knowledge (basic editing or layout composition).

How we work

Projects and deadlines are managed through our internal workflow with clear ETAs. Work flexibility is high -- on-site or remote -- but delivery quality and timelines are non-negotiable. You'll receive a fixed monthly retainer based on your experience and agreed deliverables.
