is looking for a

Junior Accountant

to join its finance team at Head Office. This role is suited to a capable, detail-driven accounting professional who wants to build a strong technical foundation while working closely with senior finance leadership in a well-structured environment.



You will support core accounting processes across the group, contribute to accurate financial records, and gain hands-on exposure to month-end, statutory compliance, and financial controls. The role offers meaningful responsibility, clear expectations, and room to grow.



Your Role:



You will work directly with the CFO and finance team, supporting day-to-day accounting activities and developing confidence across core finance functions. This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who values accuracy, organisation, and steady progression.



Key responsibilities:


Support the full debtor cycle, including invoice preparation, statements, credit notes, and query resolution Assist with VAT reconciliations and revenue account maintenance in Xero Maintain daily cashbooks and perform regular reconciliations Update and manage the fixed asset register Assist with VAT returns, EMP201 submissions, and statutory documentation Support month-end close processes and audit preparation Assist with budgeting support and financial reporting tasks


Requirements:


Minimum: BCom in Accounting or equivalent qualification Approximately three years' accounting experience in a structured finance environment Working knowledge of Xero (Pastel advantageous) Confident Excel skills Understanding of VAT, general ledger processes, and South African tax compliance
