Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support the finance operations of our Cyber Security and IT services organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent numerical skills, and the ability to learn and grow within a technology-driven Finance environment. Experience in IT services, SaaS, managed security services (MSSP/MSP), or subscription-based billing models will be advantageous.


This role provides hands-on exposure to financial processes, reporting, reconciliations, and operational accounting activities while supporting the Senior Accountant or Financial Manager.

Responsibilities

Daily & Monthly Accounting

Process daily transactions and maintain accurate financial records. Handle accounts payable/receivable: invoice capture, billing, credit notes, and reconciliations. Prepare and send customer invoices and recurring service billing. Manage debtors: issue monthly statements and follow up on overdue accounts.

Reconciliations

Perform bank, credit card, merchant, and subscription platform reconciliations. Reconcile supplier accounts and ensure invoice/payment accuracy. Support monthly general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.

Month-End Close

Prepare journal entries (accruals, prepayments, allocations). Assist with month-end reporting: P&L, cash flow, and variance analysis. Maintain audit-ready documentation.

Operational Finance

Track expenses for software, hardware, cloud costs, and vendor contracts. Support payroll, contractor payments, and statutory submissions. Maintain digital finance files and ensure compliance.

Industry-Specific

Assist with SaaS and managed services billing (MRR/ARR). Monitor subscription revenue, renewals, and billable items. Learn MSP/MSSP structures for accurate financial tracking.

Essential Skills


Qualifications & Experience



Qualification or diploma in Accounting or Finance. 1-2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role (internship experience welcome). Experience in IT, cybersecurity, SaaS, or digital services environments is an advantage but not required.

Technical Skills


Basic understanding of accounting principles, IFRS, and reconciliations. Familiarity with accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or equivalent). Ability to work with cloud-based tools, spreadsheets, and ticketing/workflow systems. Knowledge of VAT/tax processes is beneficial.

Soft Skills


Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines. Professionalism and confidentiality in handling financial data. * Eagerness to learn and grow within a finance team.
