Job Description
Join this dynamic established busy company as a Junior Accountant / Bookkeeper where you will be a valuable member of the team. This role is office-based. You will be based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town (Bellville).
You will accurately account for and record all the bank accounts and suppliers in PASTEL PARTNER for the company. Assist the FM with tasks by accurately reporting the financial affairs of the company and all related ad-hoc requests.
Requirements:
- Matric
- Financial Qualification / Degree or Diploma
- Strong computer skills - PASTEL advantage / Strong EXCEL
- 2-3 years of working experience in a similar financial accounting role
- Experience dealing with SARS - VAT, PAYE - advantageous
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem-solving attitude
- Team player who pays attention to detail
- Full Bookkeeping to Trial Balance
- Preparation of management accounts
- Interest calculations
- Reconciliations monthly
- Creditor and Debtor Recons
- Bank Recons
- VAT returns
- Communication with the creditors
- Fixed Asset Register Maintenance
- Assisting the FM with additional accounting-related tasks
- Assisting the FM with the compilation of management reports
- Assisting in the preparation of the audit file for the annual year-end audit
- Recording and handling of petty cash
- Drafting of all SARS-related RFRs, objections, and appeals
- General ad hoc financial administration
