A large, well-established multi-entity group operating in the retail and distribution space is hiring a Junior Accountant / Bookkeeper to join their Cape Town-based finance team.
This is a hands-on role for someone early in their accounting career who wants real exposure, not just data capturing. You'll be working in a structured finance environment with transaction volume, multiple entities, and proper processes, the kind of setup that builds strong fundamentals fast.

What you'll be doing

• Processing supplier and customer transactions accurately and on time
• Capturing journals and raising intercompany invoices
• Performing bank and control account reconciliations
• Supporting month-end close activities
• Assisting senior finance staff and responding to internal finance queries
• Maintaining clean, compliant, audit-ready records

What they're looking for

• A solid understanding of basic bookkeeping principles
• Strong attention to detail and good time management
• Confidence working with numbers and financial data
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience using accounting software (Xero, Sage, Pastel, SAP, QuickBooks, etc.)
• Prior exposure to a finance or accounts role (internship or junior position)
• Studying towards or recently completed an Accounting / Finance / Bookkeeping qualification
• Matric with HG Mathematics
