Title Junior Account manager



Account Managers focus on achieving their sales targets from within existing accounts only.

Account Managers are required to build strong relationships with their existing client database. Account managers will be assisting their allocated clients with the following: Upgrades, add onxe2x80x99s and Wallet share growth. The Account Managers will also assist the Sales Consultants (Hunters) by sending new business leads received via the IVR system.

Account Managers perform 3 primary roles; Account Management, Account Development and Account Retention.

  • Account Management is the day to day attention to and smooth running of their Account(s), delighting the client(s) with good customer service in all aspects of administration and service delivery.
  • Account Development is managing the Account like a market-place, constantly finding and closing additional business, becoming more intrenched and maximising xe2x80x98share of walletxe2x80x99. Providing xe2x80x98thought leadershipxe2x80x99 and being more and more of a xe2x80x98trusted advisorxe2x80x99 to the client.
  • Account Retention is preventing churn, by ensuring customer satisfaction, pro-active problem solving and proving solutions to client concerns.
Key Responsibilities:

Account Operations Management
  • An Account Manager must achieve his/her allocated targets monthly.
  • An Account Manager must build strong relationships with his/her allocated databases to understand the needs of the client/s and to assist with additional solutions to cater for those needs.
  • An account manager should assist his/her allocated client base with upgrades, add onxe2x80x99s and wallet share growth.
  • An account manager should be the link between Netstar and his/her allocated clients to assist/direct queries to the relevant departments xe2x80x93 provide timely feedback to the client.
  • Identify and facilitate sales and business growth opportunities and constantly keep the business goals on the operations leadership teamxe2x80x99s radar.
  • Drive collaboration across industries and service lines, including collaboration, performance, cross and upsell opportunities.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of strategies and plans through thought leadership to ensure that the highest level of performance is achieved, and objectives are met.
  • Maintain an extensive network of internal and external contacts to ensure that the Account is optimally managed in its understanding of business, economic and commercial challenges, and opportunities.
  • Lead relationship building initiatives with Principal Vendors including playing the lead role in negotiations with respect to pricing, procurement and inventory control.
Core Responsibilities:

Governance, Risk and Business Continuity Management
  • Ensure that appropriate governance systems are in place and in line with future requirements, i.e. policies, procedures and reporting structures.
  • Continually assess the competitiveness of all operations programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets.
  • Stay up-to-date of new trends and innovations in operations.
  • Manage business risk, through continuous internal and external monitoring of business impact, as well as changes in stakeholder needs.
  • Lead and guide improvement projects that will increase profits or protect against risks in the function.
  • Establish and maintain the highest ethical standards in operations practices.
  • Ensure that the business unit is fully compliant with all Altron initiatives through conducting regular audits and taking corrective action.
External Parties and Relationship Management
  • Oversee relationship with service providers and ensure all the services are delivered properly, evaluate the performance of consultants, and report any deviations to the relevant department for any corrective actions.
  • Manage relationships with operational Heads and other Group Executives and act as a trusted advisor.
Administrative Duties
  • Dealing with queries on the phone and via email.
  • Manage phone calls and correspondence.
  • Create and update records and databases with personnel.
  • Submit timely reports and prepare presentations/proposals as assigned.
  • Assist senior colleagues whenever necessary.
Education National Certificate Level 4 (N4) / Grade 12 (Required)
