Job Description

The Junior Front-end Developer and Web Designer is responsible for designing, building and deploying websites, primarily on WordPress. The role requires application of User Experience (UX) best practices and responsive design principles, and it involves Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) compliance. The Junior Front-end Developer contributes to improving user experiences, maintaining web performance and supporting cross-platform development initiatives.

Primary responsibilities

Designing, building and deploying responsive WordPress websites using themes, plug-ins, and page builders such as Elementor and WPBakery

Applying UX design principles such as layout, typography, accessibility and colour usage to create intuitive and visually appealing websites

Implementing Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and JavaScript ES6+ for front-end customisation

Collaborating with the Marketing team to maintain consistency and branding standards

Using tools such as Figma or Canva to create mock-ups, wireframes and prototypes

Optimising websites for SEO, speed and performance

Keeping abreast of new technologies, frameworks and best practices

Providing support in cross-platform projects such as Flutter and .NET, where required
