This position is a full-time assignment teaching Middle School Social Studies and Language Arts. The Middle School Social Studies and Language Arts Teacher is responsible for delivering integrated instruction across the disciplines of history, geography, civics, economics, literature, writing, and language arts. This position develops an engaging, standards-aligned curriculum that fosters students' critical thinking, communication, and cultural awareness. The teacher creates an inclusive learning environment that empowers students to become knowledgeable, globally connected citizens. Our Social Studies program uses the C-3 Framework

This position requires a commitment to the
AISJ Portrait of a Learner
, modeling the same dispositions we are developing in our students in your own practice. You will collaborate with colleagues in Impact Teams and Professional Learning Networks during our dedicated Professional Growth and Collaboration Time (PGCT) on Wednesdays from 2:00 - 4:00 PM to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience for all students.
The Middle School operates on an 8-period rotating block schedule, and teachers are assigned to teach 6 of 8 blocks. Each Middle School Teacher is also responsible for an Eagle Forum cohort, which is integral to the Middle School experience as well as participating in our FLEX and Club programme.
Preferred Qualifications:
Secondary license or certification for teaching Social Studies/Language Arts
Bachelor or higher Language Arts (or similar) or Social Sciences
Bachelor of Education or higher
Masters degree desireable
Preferred Experience:
Successful experience designing and implementing curriculum using the
C-3 Standards

Common Core Curriculum Standards

Understanding and experience with MTSS
