GROUP SALES MANAGER (KZN & GAUTENG)



Location:

KZN (with required travel to Gauteng)

1. Purpose of the Role



The Group Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving all sales activities across both the KZN and Gauteng branches. The role ensures consistent revenue growth, strong customer relationships, effective sales processes, and alignment between Sales, Operations, and Accounts. The manager must ensure targets are met, reporting is accurate, and the sales team delivers exceptional service to all clients.

2. Key Responsibilities A. Sales Strategy & Leadership



Develop and execute short- and long-term sales strategies for both branches. Set, monitor, and manage monthly and quarterly sales targets. Drive the expansion of market share and identify new business opportunities. Monitor sales pipelines, forecasts, and CRM activities daily. Analyse competitor behaviour and market trends to adjust strategies.

B. Client Relationship Management



Maintain strong relationships with key clients and conduct high-level client engagements. Manage and resolve client escalations in a professional and timely manner. Ensure consistent client communication, follow-ups, and retention strategies. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.

C. Team Management & Performance Oversight



Oversee and manage the Sales Representatives in KZN and Gauteng. Conduct training, coaching, and development sessions for sales staff. Review and approve quotes before being issued where required. Ensure daily activity logs, call reports, and weekly summaries are submitted. Manage staff discipline, professionalism, and adherence to procedures.

D. Sales Administration & Reporting



Ensure correct processes are followed for quotes, purchase orders, job bookings, CRM submissions, and client communication. Verify accuracy of information before submission to Operations and Accounts. Submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports to management. Track and review individual and branch performance, implementing corrective actions where needed. Ensure all client documentation is correctly stored, updated, and controlled.

E. Operational Coordination



Work closely with Operations to ensure job scheduling aligns with client requirements. Confirm availability of equipment, workforce, and resources before finalising client bookings. Ensure accurate handover of job information to prevent operational errors. Communicate any special requirements or risks to relevant departments.

F. Marketing & Business Development



Support marketing initiatives and campaigns across both branches. Assist with brand development, promotional activities, and industry event participation. Promote all company services and maintain a professional image at all times.

G. Compliance & Professional Conduct



Ensure all sales activities comply with internal company policies. Maintain confidentiality of client and company information. Support adherence to safety, operational, and administrative procedures. Ensure accurate interpretation and communication of company pricing and service offerings.

3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)



Achievement of sales targets in KZN and Gauteng. Growth of new clients and retention of existing accounts. Accuracy and timeliness of reports and CRM submissions. Reduction of operational errors caused by incorrect sales information. Team performance and activity levels. Revenue growth per region. Customer satisfaction and complaint reduction.

4. Skills & Competencies



Strong leadership and people management. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong presentation and client-relationship abilities. High level of organisational and administrative discipline. Strategic planning and execution capability. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities. Proficiency in CRM systems, Excel, and reporting tools. Strong understanding of operational workflows (advantageous).

5. Minimum Requirements



Grade 12 (Matric) - Essential. Sales or Business Management qualification - Advantageous. 5+ years' proven sales experience in a technical, industrial, or service-based environment. Minimum 2 years' managerial or supervisory experience. Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel. Strong understanding of operational planning, quotations, and client service.
