Java Development Team Lead - Cape Town (one day remote) - R130k CTC + Bonus

My client is a forward thinking payments solution provider, using cloud native products to optimise transactions across businesses and banks. They were founded in 2012 and since then have scaled to a headcount of 200 people, with a target of 30% growth year on year moving forward.

This company are a people-centric organsiation with a focus on growth and progression opportunities for their employees. 80% of their current team leads are individuals who began with the business as juniors or intermediates, working their way up.

Requirements:

3+ years technical management experience 5+ years of development experience with Java (.Net will be considered) Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering (or related field)

Role Description:

Technical Expertise

Software Development - setting standards for the team, leading by example. Solving high-level, complex problems when escalated. Solution Architecture - contribute to architecture and design, reviewing solutions and collaborating with seniors in the team to provide the best solution.
Delivery

Project Management - collaborating with project office, product teams and professional services to define, prioritise and execute projects to the highest standard. Apply the relevant SDLC standards and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time and deadlines are met.
Team Management

Set clear goals and performance indicators for the team to work to and monitor their progress. Support team members in their growth journey on a professional and personal level, empowering them to progress within the company.
Performance Management

One-to-one meetings with team members to measure performance and manage their progress. Performance reviews.
