Job Summary A national organisation with multiple branches and a major warehouse operation is seeking an adaptable, technically strong IT Support Technician to manage all onsite IT requirements.
The role is highly independent: the technician will be the sole IT support resource at the warehouse, responsible for maintaining infrastructure, resolving technical issues, and supporting both users and operational systems.
The position requires someone hands-on, versatile, and confident working across hardware, networks, software, CCTV, and warehouse IT environments. The individual will report into the warehouse leadership team with oversight from senior management at head office.

Duties:
Core IT Support

  • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain PCs, laptops, printers, and related equipment.
  • Perform both onsite and remote support across the business.
  • Ensure regular backups, system stability, and security compliance.
  • Document daily tasks, incidents, and technical resolutions.
  • Provide first-line support for common user queries.
Network, Infrastructure & Systems
  • Pull, install, crimp, and maintain network cabling.
  • Support, maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure (switches, routers, Wi-Fi).
  • Manage Active Directory (user creation, permissions, roles).
  • Manage and maintain TCP/IP-based networks.
CCTV, Security & Access Control
  • Install, manage, and troubleshoot CCTV systems, IP cameras, and access control systems.
Software & Applications
  • Provide support across the Microsoft Suite (desktop and server environments).
  • Work comfortably with accounting systems such as Pastel.
  • Assist in maintaining internal reporting tools and applications.
  • Support basic website content updates when required.
Stakeholder & Operational Support
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Adapt quickly to operational challenges and troubleshoot issues in real time.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • IT-related diploma or degree advantageous.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an IT Support / Desktop Support role.
  • Strong exposure to Microsoft Server, Microsoft Office, and general IT infrastructure.
  • Experience working independently in a high-activity environment (e.g., warehouses or multi-branch operations).
  • Experience with CCTV, networking, cabling, and hardware installations.
Skills & Competencies:
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Server and Active Directory.
  • Good technical knowledge of PCs, printers, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage and install network infrastructure (including cabling).
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and general networking principles.
  • Familiarity with Pastel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working with CCTV, IP cameras, and access control systems.
Soft Skills & Attributes
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
  • High adaptability and ability to problem-solve under pressure.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with strong integrity and accountability.
