Job Description

The IT Support Specialist will provide comprehensive technical assistance and support to end-users for software, hardware, and network-related issues. This role is based in Jet Park, Boksburg, and focuses on ensuring optimal system performance and service continuity across the organization. The position involves managing the IT budget, supporting the rollout of a bespoke ERP/WMS system (with finance module already implemented), and enhancing operational efficiency across all departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse operations, transportation, and contract logistics to effectively support WMS and TMS integration initiatives.
Main Functions & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the IT budget, ensuring efficient allocation, expenditure tracking, and alignment with organizational objectives
  • Provide first-line support for users, systems, and applications, including network and hardware troubleshooting, process explanations, and training for warehouse-related functions
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and digital assets in collaboration with the finance department, ensuring robust access and security protocols
  • Support network operations (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN) by liaising with service providers to resolve performance issues
  • Contribute to IT projects, including software deployments, upgrades, and migrations, collaborating with system developers to refine WMS and TMS solutions
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel for data preparation, analysis, and decision-making to support IT and operational initiatives, while recommending software improvements to management
  • Handle IT service requests, repairs, inquiries, or complaints, alongside general administrative duties
  • Support the ongoing rollout and optimization of the bespoke ERP/WMS system across warehouse and operational functions
  • Facilitate integration between WMS and TMS systems to enhance operational efficiency
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT support with a customer service-oriented approach, demonstrating high accuracy, efficiency, and accountability
  • Strong technical knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, networking fundamentals, and ERP/WMS/TMS systems
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling capabilities
  • Solid understanding of warehouse functions, transportation, and contract logistics operations
  • Familiarity with common integration methods (e.g., file transfers, APIs) is advantageous
  • Basic financial acumen beneficial for budget management and finance module support
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are advantageous
  • Own transport required
  • Based at company head office in Jet Park, Boksburg
