Job Description


Role overview

The successful individual will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to users within the organization.

Primary responsibilities would include, but not be limited to - diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving software, hardware, and network issues

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt and efficient IT support to end users within the organization
  • Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and network issues reported by users and escalate complex problems to senior team members
  • Perform equipment and software installations, configurations, and upgrades
  • Assist in maintaining IT infrastructure and ensuring network connectivity and security
  • Set up and configure new computer systems, printers, and other peripherals
  • Educate users on using software applications and hardware equipment effectively and patiently
  • Document and track reported issues, resolutions, and troubleshooting steps in the knowledge base system
  • Conduct regular technology audits to ensure software licenses and hardware resources are updated
  • Collaborate with IT team members to identify recurring issues and participate in developing solutions to prevent them
  • Stay updated with technological advancements and industry trends to provide efficient support
Qualifications and Skills
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (an advantage)
  • 3+ years experience as an IT Support Specialist or a similar role
  • Good knowledge of computer systems, networks, software applications, and hardware components - (Healthcare/Medical equipment/systems experience would be advantageous)
  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving technical issues
  • Familiar with operating systems i.e. Windows, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) to successfully communicate technical solutions to non-technical individuals
  • Able to work independently and collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or similar certifications (an advantage)
Additional Requirements
  • Able to lift and move computer equipment, printers and peripherals
  • Stamina to sit and stand for extended periods and provide on-site support if required
  • Clear Criminal Record
  • Valid drivers license and own transport
  • Willing to work overtime (if and when required)
