Senior IT Technician

to strengthen our IT team and support the institution's technology-driven environment.

About the Role

The Senior IT Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex IT systems, providing advanced technical support, and contributing to the implementation of technology projects that support academic and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver second- and third-line support for IT-related issues across the institution. Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, networks, and hardware infrastructure. Manage the installation, configuration, and upgrading of software and operating systems. Ensure IT security through proactive monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery processes. Provide technical input and support for IT-related projects and strategic initiatives. Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and technical processes. Mentor and support junior IT staff to ensure knowledge transfer and team growth. Liaise with vendors and service providers to resolve escalated issues.

Requirements

National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior IT support role. Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft 365, virtualization, and networking. Experience with cybersecurity tools, firewalls, and endpoint protection solutions. Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Professional certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco are advantageous.
