Job Description

Job Purpose:
Information Technology PACS Administrator, responsible for fulfilling IT PACS Administrative duties. Serve as the first point of contact for end users, doctors and patients seeking technical assistance and medical information over the phone, via the Helpdesk or email.
Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Helpdesk tickets and escalation
  • Sending of digital reports and support
  • Computer setups and configurations
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Resolve basic networking issues
Minimum Education Required:
  • Matric Certificate
  • A+ and N+ Certificate
  • PACS Administrator Certificate (Advantageous)
Minimum Skills / Knowledge Required:
  • 2 to 3 years experience in a similar role
  • PACS / HIS/RIS Concepts and terminology
  • Medical Imaging workflow
  • DICOM, HL7 and IHE Basics
  • Clinical Basics and Terminology
  • Basic Human Anatomy
  • Positioning and Orientation used in digital imaging
  • Modality imaging characteristics
  • Image Quality and QA/QC
  • Tech-Savvy with the latest devices and technologies
  • 1 to 2 years experience in a Radiology environment Preferred
