Job Summary
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage On-Air Networks
- To provide fast, responsive support for any queries relating to the G Selector and Newsroom networks
- Prioritize Zeta, Studio then Office Network
- Consider the pressures of a live studio environment and the importance of attending to any matter relating to On Air and limiting downtime.
- Maintain servers, both physical and virtual
- Ensure security of data, network, and backups.
- Audit systems and identify problem areas.
- Maintain hardware (including UPS)
- Maintain printers.
- Manage telephone system.
- Manage software licensing e.g. AV, Office, KLZ
- Attend to the technical requirements or requests of Management and staff in an expedient manner.
- Implement failsafe, contingencies, and redundancies.
- Maintain Disaster Recovery.
- Seacom (Fibre)
- RJ45 (Microwave Link, Firewall and Email)
- Outsource Digital (Printers)
- Sentech (Broadcast)
- Paul Switch UP (PABX and Phone System)
- Set annual budget - Set budget October every year.
- Monthly technical expenses report - Ensure monthly budgets below.
- Seacom (Fibre)
- Sentech (STL)
- Office (emails)
- PC Networks (wireless)
- Firewall (RJ45)
- Telkom (ADSL)
- Access control
- Cameras
- Panic Button
