Job Description

IT Infrastructure Specialist required in Centurion, on a hybrid working model (3 days in office) for a 12-month contract within the telecommunications industry. This role is required to be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organisation's IT infrastructure. This includes managing servers, networks, and other critical IT systems to ensure optimal performance and security. The specialist will support the CIO in the IT transformation process, align IT infrastructure initiatives with strategic objectives, and work closely with the cloud operations team.Main Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain the organisation's IT infrastructure.
• Manage servers, networks, and other critical IT systems.
• Support the CIO in the IT transformation process.
• Ensure alignment of IT infrastructure initiatives with strategic objectives.
• Work with the cloud Operations team to ensure optimal cloud infrastructure performance and reliability.
• Manage service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Provide support for software applications, ensuring issue resolution and minimal downtime.
• Carry out server administration tasks, including system monitoring and maintenance.
• Offer desktop support to internal users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
• Provide assistance with server-related problems.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement IT solutions.
• Ensure IT systems are fully operational through regular system checks and updates.

Requirements:

• Diploma/National Diploma.
• Qualification in Computer Science or Engineering, or Information Technology.
• Competencies in IT infrastructure design and implementation; Problem-solving and analytical skills; Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities; Leadership and team management.
• IT security best practices; Cloud computing and virtualisation technologies.
