It Cyber Security Specialist

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis
- Monitor networks and systems for security breaches or suspicious activity
- Respond to security incidents and perform root-cause analysis
- Manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security tools
- Lead security awareness programs and provide training to staff
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and industry standards
- Collaborate with IT teams on secure system design and architecture
- 3-5+ years of experience in IT security, cyber defence, or related fields
- Strong understanding of network security, cloud security, and endpoint protection
- Experience with SIEM tools, threat detection, and incident response
- Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, or similar
- Familiarity with firewall management, VPNs, antivirus, and encryption technologies
- Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Relevant certifications beneficial (e.g., CEH, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with malware analysis or threat hunting
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and DevSecOps
- Background in forensic investigations or SOC operations
