ABOUT THE COMPANY:

MG Health is a licensed cultivator and manufacturer of pharmaceutical-grade cannabis extracts and products for the global market. The company operates both its cultivation and advanced manufacturing facilities 2,000 metres above sea level in Lesotho's pristine mountain environment, producing high-quality cannabis under EU GMP-certified standards. This makes it the first in Africa to achieve this. Supplying dried cannabis flower and full-spectrum extracts to European markets, the company expanded significantly in late 2023 by adding six new cultivation greenhouses and upgrading its production facilities, positioning itself among the largest EU GMP-certified cannabis producers in the southern hemisphere.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Irrigation Manager to oversee, manage and maintain the Netafim irrigation system we use. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient water usage, promoting sustainable practices, and enhancing the overall health of our crops. And lead a team in the irrigation department. NB:

This position is based at our production facilities at Ha Marakabei, Lesotho.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage irrigation systems for hydroponic fertigation Conduct regular assessments of irrigation systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. Monitor soil moisture levels and environmental conditions to adjust irrigation schedules and practices accordingly. Manage and train irrigation staff, providing guidance on best practices and safety protocols. Oversee the maintenance and repair of irrigation equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Hands on approach to removing all drippers after harvest and replacing them again for new crop. Maintain accurate records of irrigation activities, water usage, and system performance. Develop and manage budgets for irrigation projects and maintenance. Implement water conservation practices and promote sustainable irrigation techniques. Drip/Drain tests daily Daily EC/PH tests daily

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Technology, or related disciplines that provide a deeper understanding of hydrology, soil sciences, crop physiology or minimum of 5 years experience with contactable references. Proven experience in irrigation management, hydroponics and fertigation. Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, water management, and soil science. Proficient in using Netafim software and tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
