Job Description


The Green Recruitment Company is looking for an experienced IPP Project Development Specialist to identify, develop and evaluate new and existing project opportunities for solar, wind, storage, and hybrid technologies in South Africa.

Company Overview:

Our client is a listed IPP from wind, solar, hydro, biomass, and storage and a service provider to 3rd party clients such as Development, EPC, O&M and Distribution. They are in 20 countries, split among 4 continents, and offer a global operating capacity to their clients.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, business, or related major.

More than 5 years working as a Project Developer in South Africa.

Prior experience in the renewable energy sector.

Experience in interacting with external stakeholders in a professional environment.

Advanced user of Project Management tools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify and secure land rights, grid connection feasibility, lead permitting and all authorizations until Financial Close using GIS and other tools, assisting in the project development process.

Manage the day-to-day activities and contacts for the project, including subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.

Ensure the technical and commercial feasibility of the project and propose measures to reduce risk, time, and cost of implementation.

Prepare and manage project budgets and schedules.

Ensure the implementation of the project's development in line with the Company objectives and targets.

Work in close cooperation and contact with the Development Manager.

Ensure that projects are developed on time, within budget and compliant.

Work in close collaboration with Internal Departments.

Perform risk management to minimize project and development risks.

Manage and report on time all changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.

Report and escalate to the Development Manager & Steering Committee as needed.

Manage the relationship with internal and external stakeholders.

Create, store, and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Prepare presentations & reports for the Steering Committee, International Development team and Project Control.

Maintain and promote the values, strength and reputation of the company and its business lines in markets of responsibility.
