IPC Co-ordinator - Cape TownJob SummaryRequirements: SANC registration as a registered nurse Infection Prevention & Control Qualification (Certificate/Diploma) Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role Excellent communication skills Excellent interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills Commitment to initiate and implement Infection prevention & control improvement programmes Leadership qualities and mentoring skills Excellent MS Office computer skills, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint Key Outputs: Comply with legislation & Bylaws relating to the infection prevention & control portfolio & waste management (HCRW) Chair the Infection Control committee meetings monthly - Link nurses Member of the Antibiotic stewardship forum Investigation of all Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI) Compile & Implement disease outbreak interventions Review infection control practices in the hospital, simplify and streamline processes Assist with compiling, Implementation & compliance monitoring of IPC policies & work procedures Laboratory surveillance & identifying risks organisms Reporting of notifiable diseases to the relevant authorities Implementation & compliance monitoring of the relevant Best care always bundle Waste management operational functions Conduct and manage compliance of internal and external audits Provide inhouse training needs in the abovementioned portfolio
