Our client based in Stellenbosch who provides financial, administrative and strategic advisory services to a well-established private group of local and international companies with exposure to securities and stock market investment, real estate, hospitality, agriculture, game breeding, and the consumer sector is seeking to employ an Accountant to join their team.One of the main roles of the accountant will be to assist the Group Financial Manager in delivering these services that touch more than 40 companies and to assist a compact team accounting for the Groupxe2x80x99s finances, with the main responsibility to handle individual company accounts, reconciliations and a focus on financial analysis, reporting and consolidations.Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Preparation of individual company accounts from source documents to management accountsReconciliation of bank accounts and general ledger accountsPreparation and submission of periodic statutory returns as and when requiredResolution of un-reconciled items and non-standard transaction treatmentPreparation of punctual and meaningful reports across business linesAnalysis of monthly and quarterly accounts for reporting purposesMaintenance of control schedules across group accountsAssisting with audits, liaising with auditors and ensuring successful audit sign offPreparation of monthly group consolidationsRequirements include:Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in Finance or similar qualificationAt least 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a financial accounting role or similar experienceExperience in reporting and consolidations to provide concise and incisive information for business unitsStrong numeracy and excel skills, as well as practical experience with accounting systems (Xero, Pastel, Sage, VIP)Self-motivated and disciplined with attention to detailhttps://helderbergpersonnel.co.za/current-positions/
