About the Role The Inventory Supervisor leads the inventory team to maintain exceptional stock accuracy and operational efficiency. This role oversees all stock recorded in the ERP and Warehouse Management Systems, investigates discrepancies, and works with operations to resolve issues and prevent recurrence. The Supervisor ensures compliance with company policies, maintains organized and safe warehouse aisles, and consistently meets performance standards and KPIs set by management. Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Oversight:
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Stock Champs, Checkers, Conveyor Operators, Back-to-Stock Staff, and MHE Operators
Allocate tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure work is completed according to KPI targets and SLA requirements
Conduct daily shift briefings, performance feedback sessions, and implement corrective actions where needed
Ensure all staff are trained, cross-skilled, and compliant with SOPs and safety regulations
Enforce high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation
Inventory Control and Accuracy:
Oversee empty location checks, bin verifications, aisle inspections, and cycle counts to maintain high inventory accuracy
Manage scratch list control, stock rotation, and other inventory-related projects
Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, UOM mismatches, and system-related errors
Monitor replenishment activities, ensuring accurate stock transfers from bulk to pick locations
Ensure replenishment triggers are functioning, and exceptions are corrected
Operational Coordination:
Ensure timely resolution of floor queries and missing stock tracers
Oversee conveyor operations to ensure efficient movement of cartons to correct destinations
Manage back-to-stock operations, ensuring sorted stock is returned, damaged stock is isolated, and repackaging stock is processed correctly
Supervise MHE operations, including replenishments, put-away, sample picking, and location counts
Maintain and monitor equipment registers for scanners, label printers, and MHE units
Reporting and Compliance:
Monitor and review daily, weekly, and monthly KPI reports for all inventory activities
Ensure compliance with OHS and company operational requirements
Produce accurate and timely operational reports for management
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and improve stock accuracy
Tertiary Qualification and Experience:
Matric (Compulsory)
Qualifications in Supply Chain or Logistics will be an advantage
3 - 5 years' work experience preferably in a leadership role in Inventory
Demonstrated warehouse operations and stock management experience
Automotive or related industry experience advantageous
