Inventory and Planning Manager (Steel, Engineering Sector) – Brits, North West - iS0YXWR75J Our Client requires the service of a suitably qualified / experienced Inventory Manager with Industrial / Logistics industry experience POSITION: Permanent COMMENCEMENT: As soon as possible Role reports into: Factory Manager PURPOSE OF POSITION: The successful candidate will be responsible to manage the high-level planning processes of the factory, to provide an interface between the Factory, Supply chain and Marketing and to develop appropriate supply chain and stocking policies and procedures. The result of the successful implementation of these policies & procedures will be that all raw materials are available when required and that the factory is able to meet its service level agreement JOB OBJECTIVES: Manage both the raw material store, establishing appropriate polices & procedures to ensure stock accuracies, stock availability & minimize stock losses. Receive customer orders and forecast and use them to develop a master production schedule. Manager the MRP process to ensure the availability of raw materials. Manage the procurement & goods receiving processes. Develop detailed production plans in conjunction with production. Manage & coordinate the production, costing & control process including material usage variances and manufacturing order closeout variances and investigate the root cause of variances and implement permanent solutions to eradicate these variances. Manage the invoicing of product and the resolution of customer queries regards to deliveries and lead times. Ensure that SHEQ policies and procedures are adhered to in the Materials Management processes, especially wrt materials handling Manage the MRP process to ensure the availability of raw materials via SAP, including the release of PR’s to Procurement. Manage resolution of internal customer queries with regards to deliveries and lead times. Coordinate with procurement and production on delivery of raw materials, and expedite shortages Internal and External stake holder interactions and relationship management Accountable for Sales, Stock, Profit and turnover KPI’s **Comprehensive responsibilities will be discussed with short-listed candidates who meet with the required criteria for this position. Valid SA Driver’s license required and clean criminal / credit record. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BSc Eng/B.Comm (Industrial/Logistics)
The incumbent must have 5 - 10 years relevant experience in MRP.
Production planning, Internal Logistics.
Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma would be advantageous.
SAP (ERP system).
Proven experience as Inventory manager or other managerial role
Experience in Inventory planning
Solid understanding to Manage & coordinate the production, costing & control process
Working knowledge of production on delivery of raw materials and expedite shortages
