The role of Internal Sales Representative is a customer services role, which sees our Internal Sales Representatives as the first point of contact, responsible for building strong relationships and delivering excellent service both internally and externally. You will:-
Use JDE, Salesforce and be computer literate.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will build relationships telephonically and by putting together professional e-mails and listening to and understanding client's orders and colleagues' instructions.
Be resilient, and able to multi-task and work under pressure. No two days are the same at IMCD. We work at a fast pace, and often encounter tight deadlines. You will have demonstrable experience in working to an excellent standard when under pressure, adapting to complex or challenging situations as they arise.

Be highly numerate - giving quotes, placing orders, preparing reports or working with spreadsheets. Being able to spot discrepancies, working with percentages and in general be comfortable working with numbers.
Be IT proficient - we will train you on our key systems, but we would like you to have a good understanding of Word and Excel and be comfortable producing e-mails and letters.
Have administrative / sales experience - at least 5 years in a similar function
Experience in the Pharma, Food and/or Personal Care industries will be an advantage.
The position is responsible for:
First point of contact for customers in relation to order placement.
Receiving customer orders, this can be via email, phone, MyIMCD or Customer Care 360, and placing these in our URB system. Sales include stock sales, consignment sales, ex-wharf sales.
Processing all orders in line with IMCD standard procedures.
Manage customer accounts in its entirety for smaller customers in the Business Unit.
Regular telephonic contact with allocated customers to develop existing business with them.
Development and expansion of product portfolio for allocated customers. Creation and submission of offers, including price responsibility, by updating and maintaining the prices in
SalesForce on a quarterly basis.
Independent processing of customer inquiries including complaints.
Technical advice, in consultation with Principal Manager, to customers on the development of formulations, including appropriate sampling.
Report maintenance and documentation in the CRM system (Salesforce)
Responsibility for budget and requirements planning.
Stock Management: Working closely with local Principal Managers to ensure an optimal stock holding.
Manage stock transfers as well as damages and aged stock.
Dealing with queries relating to these orders such as price queries and delivery delays.
Developing and maintaining good relationships with customers and colleagues.
Developing good communication skills via email and phone with internal and external customers/colleagues.
Following best practice in relation to IMCD goals and values.
Dealing and resolving customer complaints such as damaged or delayed deliveries.
Managing workload in an efficient and organized way, keeping the ERP system/colleagues up to date where necessary.
Efficient and supportive team working.
Expected Qualification/Education:
A post matric tertiary qualification in a related field will be an advantage.
Work Experience:
5 years plus in a related field
