Job Description


Our client in the FMCG industry is currently looking for an Internal Sales Manager in Mostyn Park, Roodeport.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading and managing the Internal Sales team.
  • To ensure the efficient operation of the Internal Sales Department, achieve sales targets, and foster a high-performance culture within the team.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the Internal Sales and Customer Service (Reception) teams to achieve sales objectives and targets.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering their professional development.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to drive revenue and gross profit growth.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new sales opportunities, including new target customers. Monitor and analyse sales data to track performance against targets and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ensure efficient sales processes and workflows are in place to streamline operations.
  • Develop and implement sales metrics, KPIs, and performance indicators to assess team performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners, mainly over the phone and through online meetings.
  • Resolve escalated customer issues or complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Communicate sales strategies, targets, and progress to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment promoting teamwork and effective communication.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage customer data effectively, ensuring the largest possible store stock availability.
  • Utilize customer data, sales forecasts, and historical trends to optimise inventory levels and minimise stockouts.
  • Collaborate with the logistics teams and third-party distributors in outer regions to ensure timely stock replenishment based on demand.
  • Implement inventory control measures to reduce waste and minimise product obsolescence.
  • Analyse and monitor inventory turnover, identify slow-moving items, and take necessary actions to prevent overstocking.
  • Manage export customers by ensuring all documentation is correct, applied for on time from the vet authority, and approved by customers before shipment to ensure the quickest possible delivery and service levels to export customers.
  • Performing any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by management from time-to-time
