Job Description

Job Summary Our client, a prestigious turnkey engineering and steel fabrication company, seeks to employ a qualified and experienced Sales Engineer, who has a strong background in steel fabrication and mechanical engineering. Please note that this is a mid-career level role, specifically focused on overseeing and managing procurement, import, export, supply and material traceability for projects for sales purposes. This is not solely a business development or sales role but rather a support role and a point of contact and responsibility between internal departments, suppliers and the customer. KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION You must be able to work independently and accurately keep records and be proactive in your approach to ensuring the profitability of the company. You will have a tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, coupled with 5 plus years in a steel fabrication environment, dealing with customer relations, sourcing new opportunities and import and export procedures of materials and equipment. You will have experience in assisting the project teams with compiling competitive quotations, managing quotation portals, providing support to customers, sourcing and dealing with suppliers, as well as related administration for imports and exports documentation/procedures. You will have a solid track record in being the central point of contact for all departments (finance, projects, production, logistics and procurement), as well as the customer and ensuring ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 standards are adhered to. You will have experience working on Pastel to manage supply list items and assist with the control, management and expediting of company and customer imports/exports.
