Job Summary Job Purpose: The Internal Salesperson is responsible for maintaining and developing their own customer portfolio, with a keen focus on account management and new business development, He / she will be the first point of contact for all clients and act as administrative support for the external salesperson assigned to the same accounts. He / she will be will also be assisting the Key account managers to fulfil customer expectations. Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure that you meet the stipulated monthly, quarterly, yearly sales targets, as set out by management Ensure that the target of 30% of sales are based on new customers as set out in your target Ensure that all reports are ready for weekly sales meetings Consolidate with Key account managers on weekly forecast and pipeline for weekly sales meeting to be submitted to head of sales Ensure all orders received are entered into Evolution accurately and followed up with procurement / warehouse until final delivery to client Ensure forecasting is done with clients in conjunction with internal departments, including management, and within stated limits to make sure the correct required stock levels are maintained Ensure the slow-moving stock is sold before any new orders are placed with suppliers Ensure CRM is updated daily with all relevant activities Actively and successfully manage the sales process: lead generation (cold calling), presentations; handle objections, find solutions, close deals Schedule regular client meetings for the external sales person Proactively manage respective accounts assigned Proactively up-selling and cross-selling into existing accounts Maintain an agreed level of pro-active telephone contact with both existing and prospective customers Ensuring all fibre optic tenders are identified and that a successful and accurate bid is submitted on time Maintain knowledge of competitors products and pricing levels Maintain regular research on clients and the fibre industry / market Stay up to date with new products / solutions Maintain regular self-learning with regards to fibre products / solutions Assist procurement / technical department with product pricing Compiling quotes and doing follow ups Maintain a professional standard at all times Ensure that customer complaints, issues and queries reach a successful and appropriate conclusion. where relevant, such matters must be escalated to the Sales Manager Stay up to date with any developments relevant to customer accounts Assisting with compiling of Tender submissions Perform any ad hoc duties deemed appropriate by the Sales Team/ Management Required skills and attributes: Excellent communication skills Technical aptitude Tenacious and persuasive personality Ability to thrive under pressure Ability to work independently and within a team Target driven A mature and positive approach to your work Strong attention to detail Driven to satisfy customer needs and expectations Good cold calling ability Urgent and efficient approach to daily activities Required Knowledge, Abilities and Experience Matric 3-5 years internal sales experience Tender compiling CRM or other software experience Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience Intermediate Costing experience SAGE Evolution experience will be beneficial
