Job Summary Qualification: An industry-recognized internal audit and/or finance qualification required CA (SA) or CIA qualification would be advantageous Minimum 1 years post internal audit or external audit articles experience, preferably in SMME or applicable business experience Professional association with the IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) or SAICA beneficial Experience of both South African Company law and reporting under IFRS. Knowledge of challenges faced when trading with other African jurisdictions as well as other Global territories advantageous Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Visio Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong consulting, advisory and analytical skills. Strong skills in negotiating, relationship building, problem-solving, and timely problem escalation. The ability to interact with management and staff at all levels. Focuses on the Audit Customer by understanding the business from different perspectives and ability to gain their trust with value-adding insights. Experience: ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT: Review business risk registers, advising the businesses in implementing processes to meet the risk recording and reporting requirements and for providing summary reports on changes to risk, new and emerging risks, and progress on risk reduction actions. Review business continuity plans and assess the impact on risk management and on the internal audit plan. INTERNAL AUDIT : Be involved in the development of an annual audit plan to address key areas of business risk and also address board-determined areas of focus. Be part of the development of annual and continuous risk assessment procedures to ensure the audit plan includes high-risk business-impacting projects. Perform system descriptions and assess the business risk of many different entity types including processes, functional areas, systems/applications, company strategies, and regulatory requirements. Preparation and analysis of audit data through computer-aided audit tools (such as Excel spreadsheets, or other database tools). Develop audit procedures to address identified risks and provide deliverables within the expected timeframe. Perform internal audit tests and procedures, onsite or remotely, including the completion of working papers. Ensure audit deliverables are based upon factual evidence to improve overall internal controls Engage with all levels of staff during audits. Engage with Senior Management to confirm observations identified and recommendations made. Draft complete audit reports and finalizing with Business Executives Identify weaknesses and develop purposeful corrective action plans, taking into account the level of available resources within each business Assist with the compilation of Audit Committee packs and presentations. Assist with creating a fit-for-purpose internal audit function through use of available systems, and develop continuous auditing and/or continuous monitoring procedures. Assess, evaluate and promote compliance to internal Group policies. Provide advice on internal controls and participate in enhancing internal control standards and practices within the Group. Ability to interact with other assurance providers in order to support a combined assurance approach to improve efficiency by eliminating duplication efforts.
