Supervisor: Internal Audit
Eastern Cape
A leading employer in the automotive and manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Supervisor: Internal Audit to join its Administration function.
This role is ideal for a senior internal audit professional who thrives in structured, regulated environments and who has a strong technical audit foundation combined with people leadership capability.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, mentor, and develop Internal Audit staff to ensure consistent, high-quality audit delivery
Plan and execute internal audits by defining audit objectives, scope, and audit methodologies
Review audit working papers and ensure adequate, appropriate audit evidence is obtained
Analyse operational and business processes to identify risks, control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
Draft, review, and issue clear, concise audit reports with practical, value-adding recommendations
Engage with management at various levels to communicate audit findings and agree on corrective actions
Conduct follow-up audits to confirm implementation of agreed action plans
Support the Head of Internal Audit with audit strategy, planning, and special investigations
Participate in the organisation's enterprise risk management processes
Provide advisory and consulting support to departments on internal controls and risk mitigation
Ensure audit standards, governance requirements, and IT / EDP audit considerations are consistently applied
Minimum Requirements
National Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Auditing
CIA qualification initiated (or equivalent professional certification)
Minimum 5 years' Internal Audit experience
Minimum 3 years' External Audit or Controlling experience
Strong understanding of internal audit methodologies, governance, and risk management
Solid accounting and financial controls knowledge
Experience in a manufacturing, automotive, or large corporate environment (advantageous)
Exposure to SAP or other ERP systems (advantageous)
Excellent analytical, report-writing, and communication skills
Proven ability to engage confidently with management at all levels
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
Relocation costs will be covered if the successful person is from out of town
