Job Description

The IT Intern is responsible for providing technical and analytical support to department activities which help inform data-drive decision making and information management. The intern will assist in research emerging AI technologies within the health sector, analysing organisation data and assist in developing AI use cases. In addition, support the department in preparing report and presentations. This role requires the ability to bridge technical expertise with business strategy while engaging in ongoing professional development in AI and information management.


Primary Work Objectives and Functions




Support the team in implementing departmental related projects and activities. Research and evaluate emerging information technologies, tools and industry best practices. Identify IT and AI use and business cases for potential implementation. Attend and participate in meetings, training sessions, and departmental initiatives. Maintain confidentiality and adherence to company policies.


Education




Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or related filed (essential).

Advantageous


Excellent Mathematics, English and Science Matric results. Specialised coursework or certification in AI/ Machine Learning. Good understanding of programming languages and AI / Machine Learning frameworks. Driving licence.

Experience



At least 0 - 1 years' work experience working in IT, data analysis, AI/ Machine learning projects or any other relevant role.
