Intermediate PHP Developer Remote IT - Software Development
RemoteENVIRONMENT:A Cape Town-based IT & Services company is seeking an Intermediate Full-Stack Developer to join their distributed product team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with Laravel and VueJS, supported by a strong PHP background. They value professionals who thrive in asynchronous environments and take a proactive approach to their work.DUTIES:

  • Develop and maintain features in Laravel and VueJS
  • Follow documented tickets and technical specs
  • Communicate clearly in written form with teammates
  • Use Git and Docker as part of your regular workflow
  • Participate in team calls and async reviews
REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Requirements:
  • 2+ years PHP experience
  • 2+ years Laravel
  • 2+ years VueJS
  • 1+ year PostgreSQL
  • 1+ year Docker (for local dev environments)
  • 2+ years using Git for source control
Nice-to-Have / Advantageous Experience:
  • JetBrains PhpStorm experience
  • Exposure to Agile working practices (e.g., standups, ticket-based workflows)
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Claude Code, etc)
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
ATTRIBUTES:
  • Excellent written and verbal English
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote-first setup
