Du Toit Yacht Design is South Africa's premier naval architecture firm, internationally recognised for our design of custom, semi-custom, and production catamarans. Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated
Interior Designer
with strong technical and architectural drafting skills to join our team and contribute to the design and detailing of yacht interiors. You'll be working on world-class sailing and power catamarans, integrating functional interior layouts with aesthetic excellence and structural considerations.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in the concept development and space planning of yacht interiors
Prepare mood boards, FF&E presentations, and material selections
Develop and produce detailed 2D working drawings and 3D models
Create layouts, cabinetry drawings, lighting and finishes documentation
Coordinate interior design requirements with the structural and systems design teams
Participate in the interior detailing process including 1:10 scale drawings
Liaise with builders to ensure designs are translated accurately into production
Assist with hyper-realistic rendering and presentation packages
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or Honours degree
in Interior Design, Interior Architectural Design, or a related qualification
Academic or practical grounding in
architectural drafting, building construction
, and
interior design technology
Proficient in
2D CAD drawing
(AutoCAD or equivalent)
Skilled in
3D modelling software
such as Rhino, CATIA, or SolidWorks
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a neat work ethic
Able to work well independently and collaboratively
Strong communication and time management skills
A proactive mindset with a passion for design, detailing, and technical innovation
Desirable Skills (Advantageous)
Previous experience in the marine or yacht design industry or an interest in vessels would be advantageous
Interest or experience in ergonomics, marine-grade finishes, and spatial constraints
Experience producing photorealistic renders or visualisations
