We are inviting experienced and suitably qualified candidates to provide outsourced Interim Supply Chain Management services for a period of up to six (6) months. The appointment is temporary and subject to early termination. The successful candidate will take full accountability for outputs and deliverables, with services rendered under the direction of the CFO.
KEY OBJECTIVE
To establish, manage, and maintain a compliant, efficient, and effective Supply Chain Management (SCM) function, while providing operational leadership across procurement, asset management, travel, fleet, facilities, risk, and compliance within the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supply Chain Management & Strategy
Manage and maintain a fully compliant SCM function in line with PFMA, National Treasury Regulations, and policies
Develop and implement SCM strategies, operational plans, and continuous improvement initiatives
Oversee procurement planning, sourcing, tendering, bid evaluation, and contract management
Drive cost-saving initiatives and efficiencies across procurement and contracting
Governance, Compliance & Audit
Ensure full compliance with SCM legislative and regulatory frameworks
Act as the primary point of contact for Internal Audit and the Auditor-General
Oversee SCM reporting for Annual Reports and Financial Statements
Manage procurement, asset disposal, and contract compliance
Asset, Inventory & Facilities Management
Lead the company's asset and inventory management systems
Oversee asset acquisition, verification, disposal, and loss control
Manage facilities, office accommodation, and infrastructure maintenance
Lead annual stock-takes and asset audits
Risk, Reporting & Information Management
Maintain SCM risk registers and implement mitigation plans
Oversee SCM data integrity, supplier databases, and reporting
Prepare quarterly SCM expenditure, commitment, and performance reports
Travel, Fleet & Operational Support
Manage travel, accommodation, and fleet administration
Implement cost-effective travel and fleet management practices
People & Stakeholder Management
Lead and manage a small SCM team (2-3 direct reports)
Provide SCM advisory services to executives and management
Drive capacity building, knowledge transfer, and compliance training
Ensure sound labour relations and performance management practices
