Job Description











The purpose of this position is to manage the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) website and the production of other interactive multimedia content to enhance the profile and image of the SARB and how it is perceived and understood internally and externally.



Detailed Description




The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas: Storyboard and content development/management

  • Create, develop and manage the website and multimedia content for other communication channels, in collaboration with the Manager: Content Hub.
  • Apply creative design principles in the production of the website and other digital communication channels to create and develop engaging content.
  • Conceptualise and develop unique multimedia content about the SARB’s strategy to communicate to external and internal audiences.
  • Oversee the creative direction of the website and other multimedia content projects by providing input and insight for projects.
  • Develop the storyboard and associated scripts to deliver on content project mandates.
  • Identify, develop and manage multimedia content, in accordance with stakeholder requirements.
  • Create multimedia designs in collaboration with external vendors, when required.
  • Assist in the creation of content for the website, social media and other organisation-wide projects.
Production management
  • Oversee and coordinate digital and other content for the website to convey and enhance the image of the SARB.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate photo and video shoots and cinematographic tasks, as and when required.
  • Meet and liaise with internal stakeholders to discuss proposed briefs, requirements and multimedia project progress.
  • Compile the production schedule for identified multimedia projects to enable smooth and swift execution.
  • Oversee and coordinate the live-streaming of announcements of the SARB, public meetings and any other live events.
  • Share developed multimedia content in a timely manner to project stakeholders.
Post-production management
  • Utilise appropriate multimedia design packages to facilitate post-production content editing.
  • Conduct post-production editing on captured multimedia content, prior to publishing the content.
Multimedia curation and platform management
  • Manage the available content library (i.e. sounds, pictures, graphics, video-clips, virtual reality and digital animation) and the associated tools for efficient content production and packaging.
  • Oversee the establishment and maintenance of video channels (i.e. Vimeo, YouTube).
  • Oversee the maintenance of the website to continue to offer an interactive platform for the public to engage with.
Vendor coordination
  • Source external vendors in procuring available talent and/or equipment, when necessary.
Continuous improvement
  • Monitor and evaluate the online performance of audiovisual content on current communication platforms and compile into reports to be shared within the Communications Division.
  • Remain current with technological and software developments regarding multimedia content production, to recommend potential opportunities to be explored.
  • Incorporate emerging and new technologies to enhance audiovisuals through digital communication platforms.
Compliance management
  • Verify that the multimedia content produced adheres to approved processes and communication policies for all internal and external communication.




Job Requirements




To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
  • a minimum of a National Diploma in Multimedia Communications, Corporate Communications, News Media or Media Studies; and
  • a minimum of three to five years’ experience in a communications, media or multimedia environment, with exposure to one or a combination of the following: website design on an Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platform, graphic design, illustration and multimedia technology.
