This purpose of this rol withn the South African Airways Techincal business is to insure the recovery of ALL repair cost from our appointed Insurers/Brokers and from the 3rd party for an accidental incident causing damages to Aircraft.
Principal Accountabilities
Creating of Accident/incident Files on report of incident.
Requesting copies of the TL/12 and TL/36.
Creating and Supplying of an incident Project number.
Creating and Sending of Claim Notifications to Appointed Insurers/Brokers, Customer support and to the Customer of related Aircrafts for their attention on incident supported by a copy of the TL/12 (irregularity report with description of incident).
Signing-inn and Escorting the Appointed Assessors send by our appointed Insurers to evaluate damages.
Ensure QA/QC investigation report to follow.
Advise Brokers to withdraw Claims Which Fall within SAAT's Deductible
On Weekly basis monitor repair status.
Capturing Final Repair cost on an Excel Spread Sheet and send to Customer Support for Statement and Invoicing to follow.
Working closely with Appointed Insurers keeping them up to date with Repair status.
Advising Customer when Only Temp repair carried-out and more cost to follow when Permanent repair due/completed.
Keeping track of items sent for overseas repairs.
On a Monthly base follow up and Capture Import/Export Freight cost when available (And then do what with such costs?).
Ensure the Discharge and Release Documents received from Brokers for Insurance
Following up on Insurance Claim payments done to SAAT.
Requesting invoice number from Customer Support for 3rd party claims.
Supply SAAT Insurance specialists with the Yearly Incident Buy Down Report which is sent to our Brokers.
Supply Finance with Monthly Repair status on all OPEN and CLOSED Incident Files.
Follow up on Warranty Claims / Payments as when they arise to ensure SAAT is not unfairly exposed.
Scheduling and Attending meetings between SAAT and Appointed Insurers related to Insurance Claim disputes.
Qualifications & Experience
Matric with Technical back-ground of at least 5 Years - Essential
Accident/Incident Co-ordinator exposure in a Medium to Large Company - 5 years essential (technical/aviation indursty experience)
Exposure and basic understanding of insurance and warranties - 3 years essential
Both internal and external individuals that the job incumbent establishes relationships with, comes into contact with or renders services to on a regular basis. Include working groups, professional memberships, committees or boards that the staff member belongs to
