to join our growing technical team. This role involves
in-house and onsite servicing, testing, repairs, commissioning, and assistance with installations
of UPS, inverter, and battery backup systems across our national client base.
This position is suited to a technically strong, detail-oriented individual who can work independently in the field while adhering to strict service-level and compliance standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Servicing
Perform
Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs)
on UPS and inverter systems
Conduct
thermal imaging inspections
on electrical installations where required
Diagnose and repair UPS, inverter, and battery backup systems
Test battery strings, inverter outputs, runtime, load transfer, AVR functionality, and supply quality
Repairs & Testing
Troubleshoot
single-phase and three-phase
electrical and electronic faults
Carry out internal testing, load bank testing, and fault analysis
Complete accurate service reports and documentation
Ensure all work meets
company standards and manufacturer specifications
Installations & Commissioning
Assist with installation and commissioning of:
UPS systems
Inverters (backup, hybrid, and grid-tied)
Battery banks and related accessories
Perform DC reticulation and assist with rack, cabinet, and wiring preparation
SLA & Compliance
Adhere strictly to national SLA and maintenance standards
Complete PMI checklists accurately and on time
Verify system compliance (temperature, ventilation, AVR requirements, cable sizing, battery health, etc.)
Report all non-compliance issues immediately
Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards onsite
Ensure all work is signed off, photographed, and submitted per SLA requirements
Team & Client Interaction
Work closely with the Service Manager, technical team, and warehouse
Communicate professionally with clients onsite
Represent the company in a professional and competent manner at all times
Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
3-5 years proven experience
working with
UPS and inverter systems
Strong understanding of
DC and AC power fundamentals
Practical knowledge of
renewable and backup power systems
High level of technical product knowledge
Ability to diagnose, repair, and commission systems independently
Computer literate and proficient in
Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Fluent in English
(Afrikaans advantageous)
