Job Description

Industrial Relations (IR) Officer / HR Practitioner
A dynamic company is seeking a Industrial Relations (IR) Officer / HR Practitioner to and support all industrial relations and employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with South African labour legislation while representing the company effectively at the CCMA and Bargaining Councils.
Position Area: Edenvale Gauteng , 3 years IR experience with proven experience in CCMA Bargaining council experience.
Key Responsibilities
Manage disciplinary processes, grievances, and misconduct investigations
Chair and prosecute disciplinary hearings and incapacity enquiries
Represent the company at CCMA, Bargaining Councils, and other dispute resolution forums
Prepare and submit documentation for disputes, conciliations, and arbitrations
Advise management on labour law, policies, and best practices
Ensure compliance with LRA, BCEA, EEA, SDA, and relevant collective agreements
Assist with retrenchment consultations (Section 189 / 189A)
Draft and review HR policies, procedures, and employment contracts
Maintain accurate IR and employee relations records
Support line managers with performance management and conflict resolution
Participate in wage negotiations and union engagements where required
Minimum Requirements
HR Qualification (Diploma or Degree in Human Resources / Labour Relations)
Proven experience handling CCMA and Bargaining Council cases
Strong working knowledge of South African labour legislation
Experience in disciplinary hearings, grievances, and dispute resolution
Excellent report writing, communication, and negotiation skills
Preferred / Advantageous
Postgraduate qualification in Labour Relations
Experience working with trade unions
Experience across multiple industries (manufacturing, retail, FMCG, logistics)
Valid driver's licence and ability to travel if required
