Could you be the full-time Industrial Quality Engineer within our TSSSA Project in Nigel, Gauteng we're looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your quality management and engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside dynamic and collaborative teammates.
You'll ensure product quality compliance with customer and internal specifications, driving excellence in industrial quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business, such as the Process & Manufacturing Engineering (PME) team, Supply Chain, and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA), while also engaging with external customers and suppliers. You'll analyze defects per unit (DpU) and external demerits, lead quality animations within cross-functional teams, and much more.
You'll specifically take care of implementing and updating quality control plans during pre- and serial manufacturing activities, but also support process industrial quality within your scope.
We'll look to you for:
Managing industrial activities in the relevant workshop: people, processes, and performance
Performing DpU and external demerit analysis to lead efficient line quality animation
Supporting decisions for all handovers (GO/NOGO) and exercising veto rights if necessary
Stopping production when required for mandatory reasons, such as safety concerns
Participating in criticality matrix analysis and contributing to Process FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)
Leading Failure Analysis Reports (FAR) and participating in FMR/SMR
Ensuring compliance of manufactured products and availability of the Car History Book before shipping
Managing internal NCRs and supporting closure using problem-solving methodologies like QRQC
Participating in customer inspections
Qualifying manufacturing teams for self-inspection processes
Performing workstation audits and dynamic checklist follow-ups
Conducting or participating in product inspections as required

Relevant diploma or degree in Quality Management, Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
Technical background with an understanding of critical product characteristics (electromechanical, electrical, material, mechanical)
Experience in managing quality tools and problem-solving methodologies
Knowledge of the railway industry, including relevant norms and certifications (e.g., ISO9001, IRIS, CMMI)
5 years of experience in Industrial Quality Engineering
Familiarity with operational activities and documentation management
Strong skills in communication, attention to detail, and quality standards
Experience in quality audits is appreciated
