Job Description

Senwes is seeking the services of an Industrial Engineer to support and enhance IT project execution through data-driven analysis, process optimisation, and efficient resource utilisation. This role applies industrial engineering principles within the centralised IT Project Office to improve delivery performance, governance, and operational effectiveness across the organisation.

Project Support & Coordination

Assist with the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of IT project activities across business units. Coordinate cross-functional teams and monitor project timelines, risks, and deliverables. Support project managers with documentation, reporting, and project dashboards to ensure alignment with business goals.

Process Improvement

Analyse and optimise IT project workflows using Lean, Six Sigma, or other industrial engineering techniques. Develop and standardise frameworks and process documentation to improve consistency in project delivery. Identify inefficiencies and recommend process automation or system improvements.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Collect, analyse, and interpret data related to project performance (e.g., timelines, costs, resource allocation, KPIs). Design and maintain real-time dashboards and reporting tools for internal stakeholders. Provide insights and recommendations through scenario modelling, forecasting, and cost-benefit analysis.

Resource & Capacity Planning

Evaluate workforce and infrastructure capacity to ensure optimal resource allocation across IT projects. Assist with demand forecasting based on the organisation's project pipeline and long-term strategic goals.

Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with IT teams, business units, vendors, and project stakeholders to align project outcomes with operational needs. Facilitate workshops, process mapping sessions, and feedback loops to gather insights and improve service delivery.

Governance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with the organisation's project governance framework, including Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies. Support internal audits, risk assessments, and adherence to regulatory or corporate standards (e.g., POPIA, King IV).

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

Requirements (South Africa):

3 to 5 years of relevant experience in project coordination, process engineering, or systems analysis, preferably in a technology-driven or cross-functional environment. Exposure to enterprise IT environments and structured project offices is beneficial.
