Duties:

Client Interaction:

Handling initial inquiries, understanding client needs and preferences, and providing expert travel advice.

Itinerary Planning:
/strong
Designing customized travel itineraries, including flights, accommodations, transportation, and activities, often within the region
/p

Booking and Reservations:
/strong
Making travel and accommodation reservations using various booking systems and software.
/p
p

Customer Service:
/strong
Providing exceptional customer service throughout the entire travel process, addressing any issues or concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Sales and Promotion:
/strong
Promoting travel products, services and packages, including upselling travel insurance and other relevant offerings.

Relationship Management:

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners.

Financial Management:

Handling payments, deposits, and maintaining accurate client and financial records.

Problem Solving:

Addressing any travel-related issues or emergencies that may arise during the client's trip.

Administrative Tasks:

Maintaining client information, preparing reports, and staying up-to-date on travel industry trends and best practices.

Requirements:

Grade 12
/p
p
A formal travel & tourism qualification
/p
p
A minimum of 3 years' experience as a travel consultant within the luxury travel sector
/p
p
Proven experience designing and selling bespoke travel programs across the region
/p
p
Excellent communication and organisational skills, including multitasking under pressure
/p
p
Strong computer literacy, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
/p
p
Comprehensive knowledge of Southern Africa's most exclusive lodges, regional logistics, and high-end guest expectations
/p
p
A meticulous eye for detail, with the ability to manage complex itineraries independently and under pressure
/p
p
Flexibility and availability to support the team during peak periods
/p
p
Familiarity with industry systems like Tourplan and WETU (advantageous)
/p
p
A genuine passion for wildlife, conservation, and creating meaningful experiences
/p
p
Willingness to participate in site inspections, supplier trainings, and fam trips
/p
p
A customer-focused approach and the ability to meet tight deadlines
