An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Imports Coordinator to join a well-established supply chain team in Montague Gardens. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional who thrives on ensuring seamless end-to-end import operations -- from supplier coordination to customs compliance.
You'll be the central link between suppliers, clearing agents, transporters, and internal teams, ensuring accurate documentation, on-time deliveries, and smooth import flows that keep the business running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate container deliveries (including LCL and airfreight) with agents and transporters.
• Manage unloading timelines and ensure accurate documentation and delivery notes are completed.
• Track and confirm purchase orders with suppliers; ensure all pro forma invoices and order confirmations are signed and filed.
• Prepare and submit import documentation to clearing agents within required timeframes.
• Verify Incoterms, PO numbers, shipping terms, HS codes, and supplier details for accuracy.
• Monitor shipments via shipping and Transnet platforms and complete costings using correct rates and payment terms.
• Review agent invoices for duties, VAT, and clearance accuracy.
• Update Syspro and shipping schedules, ensuring reporting accuracy.
• Manage import filing and administration, including customs codes, payment terms, and supplier data.
• Ensure customs and ISO compliance, assisting with SARS audits when required.

Qualifications & Experience ? Education:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Imports, Exports, or Logistics

? Experience:

• 4-6 years' hands-on experience in import coordination or supply chain
• Experience in a global multinational environment advantageous

? Skills & Competencies:

• Strong numeracy and analytical ability
• High accuracy, diligence, and comfort working with data and systems
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and solve problems proactively
• Customer service orientation with a team-first mindset
