Import/Export Coordinator - Kempton parkob Description:Position: Import & Export Controller/CoordinatorLocation: Spartan, Kempton Park (Gauteng)Salary: R30 000 - R50 000 (Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications)As a leader in providing customized logistical solutions to clients across various industries and territories, we are seeking a motivated Import & Export Controller/Coordinator to join our Johannesburg branch. With 3,5 years of experience and rapidly growing in the industry, we are already well known for our commitment to delivering exceptional service and treating clients' goods as our own.Duties & Responsibilities:As the Import & Export Controller/Coordinator, your role will involve the following responsibilities:Operations Management:Take charge of all operations, including follow-up, logistics arrangements, and rate negotiations for sea, air, import, and export shipments.Handle tasks related to predominantly sea freight operations.Manage the actual operations, such as requesting Arrival Notification Forms (ANFs), paying lines, and submitting documents to lines once released.Oversee and handle the forwarding and clearing operations.Estimates and Documentation:Ensure timely and accurate follow-up of all estimates.Keep clients informed about the progress of their shipments through status reports and quick email updates.Prepare and handle shipments from door to door.Arrange and coordinate deliveries as required.Desired Experience & Qualification:To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:Experience & Skills:Minimum of 3-7 years of experience as an Import/Export Controller in a Multimodal environment.Proven expertise in managing air, sea, and road transportation.Comprehensive understanding of import and export procedures and regulations.Proficiency in handling Break Bulk and Ro Ro operations.Sound knowledge of Incoterms and their application in logistical operations.Demonstrated ability to estimate costs accurately across various transportation modes.Independent worker who can take ownership of tasks and work autonomously yet communicate and share work in a team effectively.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programmes (Excel and Word).Professionalism and email etiquette is essential.Familiarity with CargoWise.Qualifications:A relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is advantageous.Familiarity with the details of import and export regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.Personal Attributes:Motivated and driven professional with a strong desire to excel.Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-motivation.Ability to share work in a team and focus on a common collective goal.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Proven ability to work well under pressure and adapt to quickly changing priorities.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and record-keeping.Fluency in German would be a bonus.Please note that this position initially offers a 3-month probationary period before transitioning into a permanent position.
